THE NAMED COLOURS
from book Martin & Davis Project Cool
... pp 221-22, ~22-24Aug1999
Aqua and Cyan are both coded the same in book (Reason: two Browser firms gave the code different names!) And Fuschia is the same as Magenta, for the same reason!
(Theoretically, Silver #C0C0C0 (i.e., Grey/Gray) is the background colour of any Webpage unless BGCOLOR is coded.31Aug1999. But in reality by late 1999 the later versions of N.N. and I.E. supply the background colour as White #FFFFFF if none is specified. - 26June00)
Please use the Hexadecimal codes (#F00F8FF and so on) for the colours, not the Names, because on some older Browsers the names will NOT cause any colour at all to show, but most old Browsers will make some attempt to show a colour if you use the codes. - jcm 16Jul00
