|
O tell me Where went Those eyes of flame, Which exploded thunder In the sensitive heart?
In those times
What thing shall we do now? |

| For some years we could not easily display on the Internet the six special Esperanto letters that have a circumflex or similar mark above them. So, some of us put an "h" or an "x" after an ordinary letter to show that it should be pronounced like a special letter. Pronunciations are: "ch" = ch in church; "gh" = j in jar; "hh" = kh, the last sound in Scots loch; "jh" = zh, the middle sound in azure; "sh" = sh in shop; "uh" = "w" or "oo" said quickly. The ordinary letter "c" is pronounced "ts," a plain "g" as in "get," and "j" like a "y." The five vowels are heard in "Are there three or two?" "Auh" rhymes with cow, and "ej," "aj" and "oj" rhyme with "Hey, my boy!" |
